I borrowed this idea from girlofavalon because I thought it was absolutely wonderful.

STEP ONE:

Turning 18 is frightening. Most people look forward to it, but I don't. Didn't.
It's frightening, but a bit exciting, too.
Today was a good day. I usually don't go to school on my birthday, but I did today since my friends wanted to bring me stuff. Afterward I just spent the day (or evening) with my Mom. We went shopping (I spent $350 on clothes!) and out to this nice Spanish restaurant. I enjoy spending time with my Mom.

She's been great to me all month: buying me jewelery and clothes and art supplies and that Digital Book I've wanted since forever. I love my mom.

I plan on celebrating with the rest of my family on Saturday and with my friends on Sunday. It's belated, but it can't be helped. People have to work and such.

In all, I enjoyed it =D

I really, really enjoyed reading tomatoe18 's fan fiction for the H/D Career Fair, and wanted to do a bit of fan art for it. There was a scene in particular that I just loved, and the following piece is based on it.

Here's the excerpt from "In The Same Boat", in which Tomatoe18 has very kindly given me permission to quote:

"An animalistic rumble emanated from the Potter's throat, teeth bared and all, and he pushed him harder against the shelf until the sharp edges of the rack dug into Draco's back. It's a bit late, but two days ago my friend, Melissa, and I went to see the best band ever-- The Used-- live at Roseland Ballroom, NYC! The show was amazing! Oh my god! The Used was my first band. I first heard them when I was in seventh/eighth grade (six years ago), the song being "Take It Away". They are the reason why I'm into rock. I freaking love them.



I had a blast at the show. They were mind-blowing. I hurt my ankle really badly, but still stayed on the floor because I didn't dare leave. Bert McCraken-- the lead singer, and love of my life-- was so unbelievably sexy. His voice was amazing. I can't believe I got the chance to see them Live! I'm still majorly stoked. God a really cool poster and everything!
